Switzerland

Our next stop was SWITZERLAND! Mmmmm, *smile* ---my heart swells. The hills are alive with the sound of music… I know, wrong country, but it totally describes how I felt.

We visited in the beginning of June. The hillsides were lush with green grass and there were thousands of wildflowers everywhere we turned. In the little valley of Lauterbrunnen, we stood dwarfed by the sheer cliffs of the Swiss Alps. Waterfalls rained down in silver stripes, flowing into a milky white river that roared with the power of the snowcapped mountains high above. Quaint dairy cows with jingling bells around their necks greeted us with a low ‘mooooo’ as we wandered around the valley. We loved Switzerland so much, that my daughter has moved there for graduate school. She’s at the University of Bern, getting her master’s degree. There is no higher recommendation to visit than that.

While there, we thoroughly enjoyed taking the gondola tram up to Schilthorn, visiting the James Bond museum, having a Prosecco in the revolving restaurant at the top of the mountain and taking in the panoramic views of the Swiss Alps. We also thoroughly enjoyed our host teaching us how to make Swiss Fondue. So many great memories in Switzerland!
